4 Tips to Shed the Winter Pounds - Winter Weight Loss!

Sometimes when winter comes all people can think about is food! It is not uncommon to eat more during the winter months. In fact, many people dread the winter weight gain. Studies have shown that people all over the world gain more weight during the winter months. There is more than one reason to explain the tendency of overeating in winters:

Winter is usually the holiday time and people are at home and they tend to eat more during the holidays. They are relaxing at home, watching TV, sitting on the couch and that’s the time they feel like munching on something.

Women know that they no longer have to wear clothes which reveal their curves. The figure is hidden behind the various layers of clothes one needs to wear in order to protect against the cold weather. This makes them carefree and not so diet conscious anymore.

During the dark winter days, the production of the hormone melatonin increases. This hormone increases your appetite so you feel hungry more often during the winter months.
If you want winter weight loss in during winter, all your efforts of keeping fit will be in vain. Let’s see how you can shed the winter pounds:

Curb the cravings – A hot cup of coffee and a muffin seem apt to warm you, but you need to curb those sugar cravings. Desserts can make anyone go crazy. Candies and cakes are full of sugar and saturated fats and supply nothing but endless calories to the body. Due to the cold, it is very easy to settle down for quicker options. You don’t want to leave your cozy space and are more interested in eating foods that require little or no cooking. Try not to become a slave to these fattening foods as much as you can.

Involve yourself in work – When you’re at home, it’s understandable that you want to relax, but try not to be idle for a long time. Make sure you eat your meals at the usual time and involve yourself in some work to avoid any unnecessary snacking.

Indulge in some physical activity – It’s not a good idea to be lazy all day. You need to include some sort of physical activity in your daily routine. If you don’t move an inch all day and keep on eating, then nothing can stop you from gaining weight.

Eat only as much as required – Identify your body’s needs. Eat only as much as required by your tummy. If your stomach feels full, stop right away. Don’t eat more just because it’s a delicious dish. It can cause heaviness and gastric trouble. One way to keep a check on hunger is to maintain a record of what you eat and the number of calories you intake. This will help you decide whether you need to eat something or not.

Now, you can indulge yourself once in a while, but do remember our little advice so that you don’t find it difficult to fit into your summer clothes!

How Laser Lipo Can Help you with your Fat Loss Goals

What is Involved in Laser Lipo? What do I have to do?

Laser Lipo is a state-of-the-art weight and fat loss system that enables patients to identify problem
areas on their body – such as ‘love handles’ – where they want fat loss. A CoreWellness Laser Lipo technician then places the laser paddles directly on that area of your body and to melt the fat away. This procedure is pain free and non-invasive. Most patients refer to it as relaxing. The technician will get you comfortable and you can sit back and relax. Many patients choose to read or surf the web. The whole process is extremely quiet, so you can even talk on the phone or finish some work during the session.

How many Laser Lipo sessions do I need? When will I start seeing results?

You will begin to see results after your first session*. However, for best and longer lasting results it takes between 9-18 sessions. These sessions are typically 3 times a week for 3-6 weeks. Each session lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Am I Eligible For Laser Lipo?

Most people can do Laser Lipo. There are a few people who cannot do the Laser-Like Lipo. If you’re pregnant, have active cancer and or a few other conditions, you may not be eligible. Please contact us with specific questions on eligibility. At your first consultation, we will discuss in detail any medical conditions you have that may prevent you from receiving laser-like lipo treatments.

Are there other benefits to Laser Lipo treatments?

Yes, there are potential Health and Wellness Benefits!
• 400,000+ people die from Heart Disease
• 200,000+ people die from Diabetes complications
– Both of these have obesity as a major contributing factor.
• Arthritis affects 1 in 2 Adults
– Obesity is again, a major contributing factor, aging your joints and promoting osteoarthritis.

Also, excess adipocytes (fat cells) produce excess estrogen as well as additional hormones and chemicals that affect your metabolism and promote fat storage and increase volume. So if you shed excess fat and have less fat cells you will have additional cardiovascular and metabolism benefits. But since the mechanism of action is just like that of exercise, you will see health benefits from losing fat with the Laser-Like Lipo as well.

People with diabetes can do this program safely. They must simply measure their blood sugar levels before and after. Most diabetics end up using less insulin after 9-18 sessions.

There are psychological benefits as well. Imagine what you will feel like when you look and feel better. How about when people make comments about how great you look? For people who get thinner, life may just be a little brighter!

What Is It? How Does This All Work? And Does It Really Work?

It is a cold Laser-Like Lipo, applied directly to the skin, which causes the fat cells to open up and release their “fat” contents, which is the same thing that happens when you exercise. Only the hormones cause the fat cells to release fats when you exercise. The water, glycerol and free fatty acids leave the cell, and your fat cell shrinks.

Is Laser Lipo Safe?

It is just cold Laser-Like Lipo, no cutting or invasive procedures, and the same process that exercise causes the fat cells to go through, happens from the Laser-Like Lipo. It is the safe and painless way for rapid weight loss.

Family Exercise at Home - CoreWellness Medical | Chicago Northwest Suburbs Chiropractor

By the statistics, children are spending more and more time in front of a TV or buckled into a car seat.  This type of sedentary activities can lead to learned behaviors that may carry on to their adulthood (sedentary lifestyle or obesity).  In addition, regular activity ensures healthy development and strengthening of a child’s lungs, heart, muscles, and improving their motor skills.

Since exercise is good for everyone, below are some examples of some activities the entire family can do, not only helping to improve the health of your children, but your own in the process as well:

Turn on Some Music and Dance

While many people lack the audacity to dance in public, few hesitate to dance around at home with their kids.  You can find songs that the kids know or anything that they just want to get down to.  Getting engaged with your children during dancing gets them working their entire bodies and is a great way to have fun with the kids while getting into better shape.

Go for Pre-Dinner Walks

Going for a walk with the family is a great way to get some exercise in as well as share your day with the family.  This can be done any time of the day where you have a solid 20-30 minutes of free time available.  Ideally, walks are best before meals, as after meals, the blood is used digesting the food in your belly and as such, less is in the muscles for exercise.

Make Chores into Games

Sweeping can be turned into a game of wiping away dust monsters.  Putting away chores can be made into a game where the toy box is a safe area and the floor is going to turn into lava.  There are plenty of ways that just about any household chore can be turned into a game, making it a family event that the kids will actually enjoy.

Get Some Exercise During Commercials

By making up childish nicknames for things like push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, and the like can turn it into a fun event for the kids.  During breaks, the family all does them together until the show comes back on.

Make Daily Activities a Workout

When you go to the supermarket, have your child walk instead of riding in the shopping cart.  Take the stairs instead of the escalator whenever possible.  Park at the far end of the parking lot for an extra walk.  There are plenty of ways to turn daily routines into a physical activity.

Have a Sports Night

Find a regular family event to get the family up and moving.  If you have a Dave & Busters nearby, play the physical activities, like air hockey, basketball, or other physically demanding games.  Play laser tag.  Go to your local batting cage.  You can even make up games for at home, like cards with activities on it that each family member draws from.  You can even get a premade deck such as this from fitdeck.com.

Diets: Why they don’t always work

We all know people who have gone on a diet at some point in time or another.  However, how many of those individuals that you know of actually kept the weight off?  Dieting can become a vicious cycle for some, losing weight while on the diet, then gaining it back after they come off the diet.  The problem is that once they come off the diet, they go right back to the way they used to eat. This, in turn forces them to also go back to the way they used to look.  So, if diets aren’t the way to go, what is?

Weight Loss from Cutting Calories Less than Expected

Normal general guidelines overstate the amount of weight individuals will lose from a given dietary calorie diminishment, prompting doubtful desires and frustration, scientists said. While patients are regularly informed that cutting 500 calories a day will give them a chance to lose a pound a week, a more sensible recipe is that such a caloric decrease would prompt a 50-pound misfortune more than three or more years, as per Kevin D. Lobby, PhD, of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases in Bethesda, Md., and partners. And still, at the end of the day, they clarified in the Aug. 27 issue of The Lancet — an exceptional release dedicated to corpulence — such weight reduction is conceivable just if the calorie diminishment is really kept up over that time.
